About the Founder
My path to being a psychotherapist wasn’t straightforward. Countless experiences with many unexpected turns, both professional and personal, showed the profound impact of mental health on our lives.
I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Post-Graduate Ontario Certificate in Addiction Treatment and Prevention, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Forensic Psychology, totalling over 8+ years of higher education in the field and 3+ years of individual and group counselling experience.
My educational background has given me a strong foundation in understanding mental health from different angles — whether it’s helping individuals directly, tackling addiction issues, or understanding the psychological aspects of problematic behaviour.
What Sparked the Idea for Nebula?
The idea for Nebula came when I stumbled upon a quote by Indian-Tamil Aerospace-Scientist, Dr. Abdul Kalam.
“Where there is righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in the character.
When there is beauty in the character, there is harmony in the home.
When there is harmony in the home, there is order in the nation.
When there is order in the nation, there is peace in the world.”
That says it all. How do you create a better world? You focus on improving nations. How do you improve nations? You strengthen communities. How do you strengthen communities? You focus on creating healthier families. How do you get healthier families? You focus on the well-being of individuals.
It all really does start with one person. From there, I knew I had to jump in to fill the gap and create a platform that breaks down barriers to mental healthcare.
Creating Cultural Change
Imagine living in a world where therapy isn’t kept hush-hush, where it’s as openly discussed as any common health issue—a world where seeking help is normalized.
The views society has towards mental health support isolates and embarrasses many to even accept they might need help. What does this leave us with? A culture where silence perpetuates various forms of further suffering. A culture where people are held back from being able to heal and thrive.
We’re entering a new era. An era where therapy will be openly embraced. Nebula is excited to take part in breaking down societal constraints. We represent a space that promotes open-dialogue about mental health so judgment is replaced with acceptance.
Embracing Everyone
Nebula stands for open-hearted mental health support, acknowledging the diversity of the human experience. Here, your individual story matters. It’s about real, compassionate care for every person, regardless of who you are. Your genuine self is always welcome.
